Dark Cityscapes: Oil Paintings by Jeremy Mann

I instantly fell in love with Jeremy Mann’s artwork for the intensity that comes across through these scenes. Jeremy works on wood panels that provide strong support for him to utilize various art techniques such as staining the surface, wiping away paint with solvents and applying broad, gritty marks with an ink brayer. There is a certain vivid, magnetic quality to these paintings, making Jeremy’s work the Benicio del Toro of oil paintings for me 🙂

You can view his work at the John Pence Gallery in San Francisco or head over to his website.
